Supplier Quality Assurance Technician

Our recent expansion has afforded us an opportunity to seek for Supplier Quality Assurance Technicians to work on Day Shift (Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) for the Supplier Quality Department at our Monroe, GA facility. The primary role of the SQA Technician is to assist the Quality Assurance and Inspection team to review and maintain supplier performance ratings, define requirements, manage supplier concerns, certifications and improvement plans.
As directed by the Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager the Supplier Quality Assurance Technician manages containment of nonconforming products and noncommercial products. This staff member is a dynamic staff establishing inspection requirements and performing inspections and as required rework/reprocess/testing / repacking of products to meet customer expectation. Inspections are not limited to finished goods; this responsibility encompasses all incoming parts and materials as well as Work in Process goods as they relate to component investigations.
Chief Duties and/or
Responsibilities:
Supplier Monitoring & Development
Maintain and report supplier scores
Work with QE to improve suppliers thru supplier development activities
Manage supplier corrective actions, working closely with supplier to resolve quality issues and reduced repeat occurrences
Arrange supplier visits to explain quality issues and present corrective actions.
Travel to supplier sights to verify and approve actions put in place to eliminate quality issues. Approve or disapprove of completed actions.
Working with QE to identify inspection requirements for components
Conducts routine analysis as required to support supplier review
Conduct routine audits to support supplier evaluations, evaluating supplier processes as needed to prevent non conforming products from being shipped
Monitor supplier component capability
Managing Containment Areas and sorting activities
Managing containment and MRB areas
Work with Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve items in these areas
Initiate sorts for nonconforming supplied components.
Inspection of non conforming incoming components and materials as well as finished goods as they relate to component investigations
Provide support to process operators to help resolve non-conforming issues affecting product fit, form or function as they relate to components Demonstrate proficiency in leading project staff for sorting activities
Able to determine staffing needs, demonstrating efficiency to support sorting activities
Write quality documents to support sorts, inspections and other quality routines
Other Responsibilities & Skill Requirements
Utilize competence, knowledge and skills necessary to make judgment calls as required.
Initiate action to prevent nonconformities
Notifies Quality Engineer/Manager of quality concerns
Provide training of component and changes as required
Demonstrate good communication skills
Participate in cross-functional teams
Demonstrate proficiency in computer use. (Excel Word, etc.)
Compliant to TS16949 requirements and monitor suppliers to these requirements
Work flexible hours as required.
As required, be able to work off-site, possibly at supplier locale.
Initiate disposition of Non conforming product.
Create and send billing information to accounting.
Explain all supplier issues and countermeasures in monthly QA meetings.
Keep logs of all supplier defects for supplier ratings.
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
Two years of college preferred. (or equivalent work experience)
Able to read blue prints preferred.
Computer Skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, email, Projects, PowerPoint, etc.)
Able to receive and give clear directions.
Leadership experience preferred.

Physical Demands:
Required to sit & stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
